about your knees & elbows

If your knees and elbows only cross your mind when they hurt, this 75-minute workshop will change that.

This Thursday, I’m teaching a drop-in workshop inside
The Freestyle Collective.

πŸ’ͺ Articulate Anatomy: Elbows & Knees 🦡

Transform vague body awareness into creative movement habits.

12 pm NYC/EST time

Two enticing anatomical fun facts:

πŸ¦΅β†’ The kneecap doesn’t just glide up and downβ€”it tilts, shifts, and even rotates slightly as you bend and straighten.

Meanwhile, the thigh bone (femur) and shin bone (tibia) spiral in opposite directions to efficiently lock and unlock the joint with each step.

If you think knees only bend and straighten

(
or worse, try to force them into rigid β€œalignment”)

you'll miss the intricate dance that actually keeps them stable and moving well.

πŸ’ͺ β†’ The biceps are famous for the wrong reasons.

They get all the attention...

but in palms-away pull-ups

(
and a cup grip Iron-X on a pole),

the biceps brachii aren't the primary elbow flexors.

That honor goes to the brachialisβ€”the deeper muscle doing more of the elbow-bending work.

Why does it matter if we know how our bodies work?

β†’ β†’ β†’ More accurate sensing sharpens performance, eases pain, and lowers the risk of injury.

The more clearly you connect with what you’re made of, the more intelligently you can move.

In class, we take body facts and turn them into movement πŸŒ€ experiences πŸŒ€

The Articulate Anatomy: Knees + Elbows class itinerary:

🦴 Anatomy Journey: feel into what your elbows & knees actually do (spoiler: more than hinge)

🧩 Coordination puzzles: brain games to upgrade your elbow & knee control

🎢 Improv play: because mobility makes more sense when it grooves with music

In other words, class is a sprinkle of joint mechanics, a dash of prompt-magic, and a rhythmic pulse that drops you into the flow zone.

It’s a $25 drop-in.

No membership required.

PS: That noisy β€œsand” or β€œgravel” feeling in your knee is usually just tissues or bubbles moving around.

Crepitus is the name.

Annoying, yes, but not a sign that your knees are turning to stone.

In fact, moving more, through full range, (with improved body maps) is often the best way to quiet it down.

If you are on this list, you know someone who loves to smear themselves on the ground (hi.)This goes beyond being willing to lie on the floor.I'm talking bona fide enjoyment. πŸ₯― Ask a floor lover why they behave like a cream cheese being spread on a bagel. They might tell you, "It feels good."But how come sliding on the floor is such a yum for some? πŸ”₯ 1. Vibration pleasureβ†’ Feel it: Place your fingertips or nails on something right beside you. In this email: My trip to the International Fascia Research Congress, where I studied this year & upcoming eventsRead time: 3 mins TOMORROW, Dec 19 I’m rather amazed by how many years I yanked my pelvis to its extremes before understanding how it’s designed to move. 15 years ago.
