🎈 BDAY

i turn 43 tomorrow.

in lieu of a wisdom, here is a list of

43 things that delight me instead:

(1-10)

  • seeing hummingbirds IRL (don't have them where I'm from)
  • seeing rainbows 🌈
  • working out at the gym in socks 🧦 (even if i'm the only one)
  • elders who keep on dancing (if you have white hair and you still boogie, we need you πŸ’˜)
  • lucid dreaming / dream practice (we spend about 33% of our life sleeping, so I have been asleep for 14.19 sleep years. Should we have sleep birthdays also?)
  • making party games where none existed (hire me to make your event more fun)
  • lay flat notebooks
  • sparkling water concoctions
  • tiny stuff. the tinier the better.
  • classical memes. what do we think of this one i made?

(11-20)

  • improv comedy shows - quick-witted joke spittin' yesss
  • helping people get their asses over their head. even better if they enjoy it.
  • animal: jerboas (think: gerbil-kangaroo)
  • animal: belugas (artic white whales)
  • animal: vampire finches (cute little birds that suck blood)
  • BOOKSTOOOOOOORES - hold me back... no, don't πŸ₯΅πŸ“š
  • book cover art (ps: I have plans to write some this decade. One of them is about feet and the conflation of aesthetics with safety.)
  • kombucha that is actually fizzy
  • Vietnamese cuisine - so fresh 🍲
  • climbing a tree in socks to hang with young orangutans

(21-30)

  • Brazilian zouk dancing & music with friends πŸ‡§πŸ‡·
  • exploring possibility space πŸ•³οΈ
  • word play
  • playgrounds that welcome adults, too
  • organizing Notion databases. mine, yours. doesn't matter.
  • making linear things circular and spirally (obvi)
  • walking on soft, uneven terrain
  • crispy, salty potato skins πŸ₯”
  • mola mola fish / sun fish - SO large, so odd. i hope to meet one.
  • lumpsucker fish (see image ↓ )

(31-40)

  • seeing unrestrained expressions of creativity that are also a bit chaotic
  • sculptures that allow you to climb them (not many, fyi)
  • fine tip smooth-rolling pens .5-.8mm for tiny writing
  • saying the word sustentaculum (a foot anatomy bit)
  • the word deliquesce: to melt away or become liquid
  • the way my thoughts rearrange in sunlit coffeeshops
  • bouncing
  • learning about prehistoric animals like giant ground sloths and the tiny elephants (like dog-sized) that used to roam Europe. us humans are SO RECENT πŸ‘€
  • tie-dye cotton sweats. i dont care if no longer trending, its a lifestyle
  • doing pull-ups on trees and then saying "thank u tree" πŸ™πŸΌ 🌳

(41-43)

  • wearing sarongs as clothes
  • carrying other humans
  • leading others into expansion + ease through movement practiceπŸ’œ
i can't imagine any other work. thank you for following along- including opening this very email.

Pop Quiz: 1. Whose body is this? Answer: no one 2. What about this one? Who is this? Also, no one in particular. Though I like the organ fiesta feel. ok last one...3. Who is this, and how did this happen? Should you ever have pants custom-made, have a conversation with the sewer before the fabric is cut.Share your vision for how the pattern will meet in the groin.[Image snapped soon after I checked the seams for the first time] Once upon a time, I bought 4-way stretch Brazilian fabric and had...

I've helped people unlock movement skills in 4 minutes that they'd struggled with for 10 years.(not an exaggeration.)they thought they needed more strength and flexibility. what they actually needed was to update what was happening in their minds as they tried. here's what I believe on this late April day in the year 2026:Movement improvement happens faster when what's going on in your head supports the change you're trying to make. cue the flying hand gestures! ☝︎Click to witness my...

I’m sitting in a hotel lobby in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, looking at a small dog's ass, and I have questions. That tooshie is TUCKED Is it cold outside? (no) Is it normal for this breed to have such tucked-under hindquarters? (apparently, yes) What are other words for this area .... heiny, toosh...? I search online for "butt synonyms" and am immediately offended. NATES!? How have I not heard this? This word has been around since at least 1675, and I just got the memo 😡I can't wait to ask a...
