i haven't shown this before

I’m about to show you something no one has seen before:

Inside my Instagram saves.

I save IG videos into folders so that when I need to show a student something, or the rare mood strikes to try some of these skills on myself,

I know exactly where to find it.

Plus, training gets confusing when acrobatic videos are mixed in with my #calligraphytips and #chilicrisprecipe saves 🌢️

Thinking back, studying other people's pole videos was how I first fell in love with pole.

Around 2007, in the days before social media scrolling, I'd watch everything I could find on YouTube- no matter how shaky the footage.

I'd spend HOURS studying JK Defies Gravity* and Rhiannan Nichole**.

They didn't know it at the time, but they were my teachers.

...

But lately?

Trying things you just watched can be so RUDE.

Have you ever gone from:

β€œI’m excited to try that moveβ€”it’s gonna be so fun!”

to

β€œI’m so weak/tight. Why didn’t my parents put me in that dance/gymnastics/parkour class?”
🫠

I know that one ^

What if there was a better way to learn from your fave videos?

In my online pole coaching groups, I invite people to turn the videos they save into real learning material.

I help them:

1. Uncover why they like the video they saved (crucial)

2. Develop their movement analysis skills (the easily missed technical stuff)

3. Map out the appropriate progressions towards the skills or vibe that excite them (by starting exactly where they are)

4. Reflect on their learning process (so they become more skillful students of movement)

^^ and do all of that in
community

Last fall, inside
Pole Fluency Coaching, there was one name the group kept dropping in the #inspo channel:

@DanAerial

(linked below)

I love-love his work.

So, when he invited me to co-teach a Static Flow Camp in Gran Canaria with him?

Immediate yes!

After camp, he said things like:

Watching you teachβ€”pure knowledge.
So much of what we’re doing here, you invented.

And I was like:

and look how you've expanded static vocab!
Now teach me 😊

I spent the week drooling over Dani's fluid sequencing and appreciating how generous he is as a teacher.
(If you can train with him, do it)

aaaand...

I got to meet some of my Pole Fluency Coaching (PFC) students
in person!

The next Pole Fluency small-group coaching sessions are now open.

With only six people per group and unlimited feedback from me, you are bound to see some big shifts.

Pole Fluency Coaching isn't a typical class, it is all feedback, my eyes on your growth.

πŸ‘‰ Join the next Pole Fluency Coaching group β€” we keep it cozy on purpose.

Questions for You:

1. What’s in your saved pole-video stash and why?

2. How often do you actually try the things you save?

3. When you do work with videos, what is your strategy? Screen record? Big Screen?

5. What has gone well?

6. What has gone 'ouch'/hell no/nevermind?

Check out the movers I mentioned:

* JK Defies Gravity (Static Spin OG of OG's)
